And Finally... robbers user thongs as disguise (and get caught!)

By James Shepherd on Feb 24, 09 03:07 PM in News

Two dozy robbers who wore women's thongs over their faces in an attempt to hide their identities, have been jailed after their skimpy disguise turned out to be pants.

In a bizarre attempt to avoid identification during a raid, the men, dubbed the Thong Bandits, wore the brightly coloured women's underwear on their heads - only just covering their noses, mouths and chins.

Richard Espinoza and Joaquin Rico broke into a convenience store in Denver, Colorado, with blue and green thongs draped over their faces as makeshift masks.

Now Espinoza has been sentenced to 4 years in jail, joining his partner Rico who had already been given 12 years behind bars.

The pair were caught after the strange sight of the robbery from the shop's CCTV camera was released to the local media.

It showed Rico hitting the clerk in the face several times, breaking her jaw, before grabbing $100 from the cash register, while Espinoza stole 37 packs of cigarettes.

If skimpy can get you somewhere in life,it will not get you anywhere in crime.
