David Cameron turned the air true blue as he tried to sound cool in a radio interview yesterday.

The Tory leader admitted voters were "p***ed off" about MPs' expenses and used the word "t**t" on the breakfast show.

He was trying to win over younger voters but his remarks sounded simply toe-curling.

They came as one of his MPs, Adam Holloway, told a reporter asking about his holidays to "f*** off". Labour MP Stephen Pound said: "Mr Cameron probably thought he was being cool. Nothing's more cringe-worthy than a middle-aged man trying to get down with the kids."

Mr Cameron was talking to DJ Christian O'Connell on Absolute Radio about the Twitter website when he said: "Too many twits might make a t**t." The Tory leader then referred to the MPs' expenses THE scandal and declared: "The public are rightly, I think, p***ed off." He later apologised and tried to play down the remarks.

But Mr Cameron was under fire again last night when Chief Rabbi of Poland Michael Schudrich accused him of dealing with racist extremists in the European Parliament - claims the Tories called "complete nonsense".

Gravesham MP Mr Holloway lashed out when he was asked about his summer plans, saying: "I'm going to Hawaii for 69 days. Now f*** off."

He later tried to laugh off the outburst and said he was actually off to Canada for two weeks.
