And Finally... Thrilling finish to World Snail Racing Championship
Competitors from around the world gathered yesterday for the world snail racing championships.
People travelled from as far away as Malawi to the annual event at Congham Church Fete, near Kings Lynn, Norfolk.
Snails - all locals - are placed in the centre of a circular table and at the shout of "Ready, steady, slow!" race to the edge.
The first one to slide 13 inches wins.
The current record, set in 1995, is two minutes.
This year the title was taken by 27-year-old Claire Hopkins, from West Raynham, Norfolk, whose snail Terri beat 12 rivals to the edge in two minutes and 49 seconds.
Claire was presented with a cup... while Terri won a head of lettuce.
