And Finally... JK Rowling snubbed from US awards for 'encouraging witchcraft'
George Bush refused to award JK Rowling America's top civilian honour because Harry Potter "encouraged witchcraft", a book claims.
The former president's speech writer Matt Latimer said White House officials objected to the author's promotion of sorcery.
As a result, she was denied the Presidential Medal of Freedom, according to his book Speechless: Tales of a White House Survivor.
Latimer blamed "narrow thinking" among Washington bigwigs for the snub.
The award acknowledges contributions to US national interest, world peace or cultural endeavours.
Bush awarded the medal to Tony Blair. Physicist Stephen Hawking was recently given the gong by Barack Obama.
