And Finally...Airline passengers asked not to use plane toilets

By James Shepherd on Oct 24, 09 11:53 AM in News

An airline is asking passengers to go to the loo at the airport to reduce jet carbon emissions.

All Nippon Airways believes that empty bladders mean a lighter plane and lower fuel usage.

Passengers will be asked at boarding gates to use the toilet in an experiment on 42 flights for a month.

Over a 30-day period the plan could reduce carbon emissions by five tons.

If the trial is effective and well-received by passengers it could be extended to other flights.
