And Finally... Jeremy Kyle's TV show banned from hospitals

By James Shepherd on Dec 16, 09 09:48 AM in Entertainment

Jeremy Kyle's controversial TV show has been banned from hospitals after complaints by patients.

Now all TVs in public areas and waiting rooms in two hospitals have been switched permanently to BBC1. Bedside sets are not affected.

A spokeswoman for the Aintree Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which runs University Hospital Aintree and Walton Hospital in Liverpool, said: "Patients have a right to a calm atmosphere. Some will be very apprehensive in waiting rooms and we have to be sensitive to how they feel."

A source said: "It was the constant arguing between guests on the show which was upsetting people, some of whom were ill and did not appreciate the bickering."

Managers have not received a single complaint about the switch over.

ITV said yesterday the move was "entirely a matter for the trust".
