And Finally... Sydneysiders get to the bare facts of equality
More than 5,000 people stripped off for a photo on the steps of Sydney Opera House to celebrate the 'free and equal' nature of Australian society.
Organisers the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras say they only expected about half that number to pose for the image, taken by American Spencer Tunick.
"Gay men and women lay naked next to their straight neighbours and this delivered a very strong message to the world that Australians embrace a free and equal society," Tunick, who is famous for his mass nudity snapshots, said.
Models at the event included a heavily pregnant woman, who rushed from the event to give birth, and a TV weatherman, who decided not to bother putting his clothes back on to do his morning report.
