PEOPLE believe wearing glasses boosts their chances of getting a job.
Some 43% think they make people appear clever and 40% would wear specs they do not need to look the part at an interview.
A third said they gave a professional look, The College of Optometrists' study found.
Cary Cooper, psychology professor at Lancaster University, said: "The idea intelligent people wear glasses is an old stereotype from the belief you develop bad eyesight by reading."
