Good old days at BREL in Crewe
DO THESE happy workers from the British Rail Engineering Limited (BREL) at Crewe look familiar to you?
The picture was loaned by Bob Clowes who used to work for the company.
The photograph is of a retirement presentation in the late 1970's early 1980's to Tommy Major, chief foreman of C Shift, by Bob who was then chief foreman of A Shift, in front of staff members of A and C shift staff at Crewe Works.
Bob said: "Many of the staff on both shifts are now sadly departed, but there are still numerous surviving members of staff in the photograph who are still active."
Do you have any memories of this time or do you recognise anyone in the photo? Phone the Chronicle on 01270 502433 or e-mail crewe. news@cheshirenews. co.uk.
