Neston Memories: Historic police site turned into luxury apartments

By Ellesmere Port Pioneer on Apr 29, 09 10:06 AM in 1900-1999

MORE than 40 luxury apartments have been unveiled following the conversion of Neston's old police station.

The site, known as Renaissance, has been officially launched by Cheshire-based developers the Ladson group.

Guests at the opening, which included Neston and Parkgate councillor Brenda Dowding and outgoing Ellesmere Port and Neston mayor Keith Butcher, were treated to a glass of champagne and a guided tour of the development.

Members of neighbouring associations including Neston's Civic Society were also in attendance to celebrate the renovation of the listed 1930s building in Hinderton Road.

It has been converted and extended into 43 luxury apartments for the over 55s.

Cllr Butcher said: "It was important to many local people that this building was preserved and it is wonderful to see the transformation which the former police station has undergone.

"Having achieved listed status, Ladson's development will safeguard the future of this building for many generations to come."

Ladson director Ashley Ladson said: "We are delighted so many guests were able to join us to celebrate the much awaited opening of the Renaissance development.

"We know this building holds a special place in the history of Neston and the hearts of local people and we're optimistic the end result will enhance the lives of not only its residents, but also the wider community as a whole."

In addition to the apartments the development boasts residents' meeting area and lounge, IT suite, open courtyard and gymnasium.
