IT WAS open doors all round in Mold last weekend as the Mold and District Civic Society encouraged people to appreciate and visit the town's architectural heritage.

More than 300 visitors were shown around the town's churches and chapels as well as the council chamber by enthusiastic volunteers.
Diane Johnson, chairwoman of the society, said: "It was a great weekend, the highlight was when Major Basil Heaton opened his Rhual home for visitors.
"We wanted to make people more aware of the architectural gems Mold has to offer.
"We'd like to thank Tony Cattermoul, mayor of Mold, for his help in showing visitors around as well. It was a real success."
