Nantwich Memories: Nantwich Historical Society has its first meeting of the new season next week
THE new season of the Nantwich Historical Society gets under way next Wednesday, October 7.
The first meeting, at the new Methodist Centre in Hospital Street, features Joseph Pennell giving a talk called on The Harvey Family and Nantwich Tannery.
It starts at 7.30pm, when subscriptions will be taken at the usual rate of £8 members and £5 students.
All following lectures will be at the usual time of 7.45pm. Visitors are always welcome, with an admission of £2 on the door.

I'm researching a man from Nantwich. His name was ALFRED BRERTON. D.O.B. 27 May 1871 Immigrated to Canada. Sadly killed in action 10 Sept 1916 at 45 yrs. Was in Cdn Army. Was there any mention of him in yr local newspaper and was the family a prominent family named BRERTON? Parent's names: Charles and Hannah. He was married to Rachel Frances Brerton. Thank you.
