Chester Memories: Share memories of Chester Infirmary
A CHESTER man is keen for readers to share their memories of Chester Royal Infirmary with him.
David Swift, who lives near Whipcord Lane, worked as a hospital porter between March 1978 and August 1981 and was a patient under Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) surgeon Mr Kodicek between July 1969 and February 1975.
The former hospital, on City Walls Road, was closed in 1993.
If you have any photographs or press cuttings about the infirmary please email:
D_A_SWIFT@Hotmail.com or telephone David on 077571 17276.
The Chronicle has been sifting through its archives and come up with a few memorable images of the infirmary which might spur readers into searching through their own photographic albums.
The first photograph was taken in 1963, but what was the occasion? The second shows a young Queen visiting Chester's Royal Infirmary in 1957. The third shows the 'modern' accident and emergency department at Chester Royal Infirmary with the older buildings beyond.
