Chester Memories: Memories of former school
A WARTIME Chronicle mystery has been solved Cluedo-style.
It was Mrs Alexander with a lead pipe in the school room.
Margery Alexander, of Handbridge, recognised last week's photograph of possible evacuees enjoying a party.
"I think it's definitely Christ Church School in Gloucester Street. I was a pupil there from 1945 onwards, from the age of five to 11, and I recognised the pipes up the wall and the chairs."
Although Christ Church is no longer a school, Margery still regularly attends as a member of Chester Little Theatre which rehearses and performs there.
The photographs of Christ Church school in the 1950s are from Chester History and Heritage Centre.
Do you know anyone in the photographs? If so, contact Jo Henwood or phone on 01244 606411.
