Crewe Memories: Crewe man's memory lane book

A HASLINGTON author is inviting residents to take a third trip with him down memory lane.

David Green, of Lynton Grove, has completed a new book on a pictorial history of the villages of Haslington and Winterley.

It went on sale last weekend at a cost of £7.99.

"The book contains over 150 photographs of the villages and villagers from the early 1900s through to more modern times," said David. "Street scenes, building, school photos, teams, organisations, people, they're all in there."

David said he compiled Haslington and Winterley Remembered: A Third Journey Down Memory Lane because of the success of the first two books.

"I used most of my own postcards in book one and when people came to buy that they were saying they'd got postcards at home and so I had enough to do another and it's continued," he said.

The book was launched at the Eternal Beauty Salon, opposite the Hawk Inn, Crewe Road, on Sunday and again on Monday evening.

There are further events this Sunday from 10am-3pm and on Monday from 4.30-7pm at the salon.
