Carry on banging the drum!
It still seems hard to believe that Chester are playing football in the Blue Square Premier these days - with more than 5,000 watching the Blues at Oxford and 6,563 at Luton. It was just a shame that only 85 City fans felt drawn to Kenilworth Road on Saturday.
Those 85 loyal supporters did their best to make themselves heard though - aided admirably by the drummers.
If there was a league for football drummers, I'm sure Chester would win the championship each season!
It was great to see the team match the enthusiasm of the support at Luton and Chester's first point of the season was the least they deserved for an accomplished performance.
After that great day, it will be interesting to see if we're brought back down to earth by the two Bank Holiday fixtures. I often wish the passion seen amongst the fans at away games could be replicated at the Deva - but somehow it's just not the same.
One thing is for certain is that the team won't be playing in front of 5,000-plus opposition fans on either Saturday or Monday, so City fans have no reason not to make themselves heard.
The holiday game at Altrincham will also be a sharp reminder that we are playing in the Blue Square Premier this season. I've not been to Moss Lane for nearly 30 years, but I don't think it's changed much since its Northern Premier League days and it's a long way from looking like a Football League ground. I just hope the drummers will be making the trip across Cheshire and will be as loud on the Hale End Terrace as they were in Luton's Oak Road Stand........."WADSWORTH'S BARMY ARMY"!
