Acal Energy, Heath Business and Technical Park, Runcorn, passes fuel cell milestone
A RUNCORN fuel cell firm has passed a major energy production milestone.
Acal Energy, based at the Heath Business and Technical Park, said its patented FlowCath fuel cell now generates one kilowatt of energy.
An Acal spokesman said scientists are confident the full system will soon produce more than one- and-a-half kilowatts, and could provide clean, affordable energy.
Dr S B Cha (corr), Acal Energy chief executive officer, said: "This unit represents a 20-fold scale-up from our last demonstration unit.
"It is a tremendous achievement by our very talented team of engineers and scientists and a key step towards commercialisation of the technology."
