Cheshire activists are attending the Climate Action Now (CAN) conference on Saturday, Oct 17.

The conference takes place at New Century House, Corporation Street, Manchester, from 9.30am-4pm and is part of the build up to the Copenhagen climate talks and the Wave climate change protest in London in December.

Cheshire activists will talk about how to make changes on their front door and demand action from politicians on climate change.

Cheshire WI public affairs representative Sybil Graham, of Queen's Park, said: "Politicians must hear the voice of this enormous movement who want them to take action now.

"It is our responsibility to make sure they hear us loud and clear.

Tyndall Centre for Climate Change director professor Kevin Anderson and Oxfam Malawi expert Elvis Sukali will also speak at the conference.

Former Abbeygate College assistant head Sybil, 65, said: "I hope as a result of the conference people will be better informed.

"I want people to realise that doing a little bit is better than doing nothing."
