Low Carbon: Buckley schools goes green to win Yellow Pages award
YOUNGSTERS at a Buckley primary school went green to win a national competition run by Yellow Pages.
Mountain Lane Primary School pupils won a £1,000 cash prize after recycling 1,180 old Yellow Pages directories - more than any other school in Wales.
The school's eco committee will now decide how the money will be spent, said headteacher Iona Walker.
County Cllr Nancy Matthews said: "I want to congratulate all our young recyclers at Mountain Lane Primary School for their tremendous achievement in winning one of the top prizes in Wales - the first Flintshire school to do so.
"It is so encouraging to see the hard work of a new generation of recyclers winning this top accolade. Well done and keep up the good work."
